Narrative Essay TopicsIn a society where everything is about money, people tend to think the most appropriate narrative essay topics are how they have increased their income and how they do not need money. These are truly stories. And it is with this motivation that students approach essay topics. I am certain you know that these types of topics are good because a good story is known to sell.But the problem is that so many students have been taught that narratives are not the best way to write essays as they have so many excellent reasons to be avoided. The only thing that they do not realize is that the people who give these lectures know their subject very well and should therefore have a lot of ideas about narrative writing. It's pretty easy to see that the ideas are merely surface-level, so the students eventually learn nothing of actual value.The problem is that people usually try to scare students by saying narratives can only be used in writing about bad things or stories of h ow you lost your job or lousy career prospects. The reason why students come to me for help with essay topics is mainly because they are unaware of the power of narratives. When a student realizes that there are some good narrative writers in their class, he or she often feels encouraged and then tries to be different and write something different.I often see students who were unwilling to talk about real-life situations and give away personal information. Instead, they are unwilling to talk about bad things that happened in their lives.Even though there are plenty of situations when it is better to talk about the good and the bad, students are not always willing to admit that there are advantages. They are afraid of the truth and they want to stick to their script that there are no such things as good and bad. So the truth hurts.Unfortunately, I cannot force them to be like other people.I cannot tell them that they should talk about the bad things. I only wish to find ways to help them realize that there are good and bad things and be encouraged by the good ones.On top of that, people need to understand that good narrative writing is not just about events but the words used and the tone of voice and the style of presentation. All of these things can really be bought and therefore narratives can also be written in just as many ways as there are salespeople in the world.I do not know if the people who teach narrative essays are aware of all the benefits of writing in this style, but they ought to start looking for better essay topics if they are not already doing so. I believe that students would become more supportive if they knew the type of students who use narratives well, and when they are faced with a topic that they would prefer not to write, they might look towards those who do.
